What a joy today to take you out of the Paris region for an escape to a delightful guest house in our beloved South. As I told you recently on my Instagram accountI will try to take you a little further into France by showing you places that are worth a detour. First stop in Chateaurenard, a stone’s throw from Avignon, Mas des Ecoliers which Marie Létienne has completely renovated to transform it into a 5-room guest house, where you can go on holiday with family or friends and organize seminars, stag parties, yoga retreats or winemaking lessons. Here everything is doable because Marie only thinks about the well-being of her guests. Do you want a massage? A dance lesson? From a creative laboratory? It does not matter. With a wave of a magic wand, it organizes all this for you.
Designed like a large house, the farmhouse, whose furnishings were designed by Marie, is super equipped between its large kitchen, its games for children (and all the safety that comes with it), the swimming pool and the immense Provençal garden where a fountain plays with relaxing music, the 5 rooms all equipped with bathrooms and toilets etc… In the photo, so to speak, nothing is missing because you will see it, even if the idea is to be on holiday, the theme chosen by Marie is that of school (also linked to the schoolchildren’s route where the Mas is located). There are therefore many references to it, such as the names of the rooms (French, History, Science etc…) or the vintage posters and furniture. All this has a crazy charm enhanced by the sweetness and kindness of Marie who lives in the adjacent house together with her husband and their three children. Really a nice twist taken by this former medical marketing director who has worked internationally and has never been home. And a retooling that allows him to work in beautiful surroundings, close to his family and serving others, all in a gracious setting. You’ll see by reading the captions under the photos, Marie did a lot of upcycling and used elbow grease to renovate most of the furniture. On the other hand, practically all the lampshades in the rooms are handmade by Marie who begins to put them up for sale, as well as some local products that she keeps in the lovely closet in the living room, just to leave a souvenir there. In addition to the delightful time spent in his company in this very pleasant place, I left with almost 80 photos. Enough to give you plenty of inspiration… Visit here!
